Tim Allison

Director of Public Health, East Riding of Yorkshire Council

Tim has been DPH in East Yorkshire since 2002.  He has a wide range of interests across public health including coastal health and sector-led improvement.  He is Joint Secretary of ADPH (UK) and is the Association’s lead on Public Health Finance; he is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School.  Tim trained in public health in the North West of England, completing an MD on the subject of musculoskeletal health needs among ethnic minorities in Greater Manchester.  Before that he was a junior hospital doctor and also studied Anglo-Saxon Norse and Celtic for a year.  He is the joint leader of the annual public health cycle ride which initially crossed the Pennines and now extends to Ireland and also participates in the occasional general knowledge competition.
