Access cards
In partnership with a number of organisations NHS England and NHS Improvement are distributing ‘access cards’, both physical and digital, which support the message that everyone is entitled to register with a GP. On the back of the card is the NHS England and NHS Improvement Customer Contact Centre number, for people to use if they have been refused registration.
Posters
There are posters that give clear information about how to register with a GP.
Briefing
Doctors of the World have produced a briefing on tailored outreach COVID-19 vaccination delivery services. The briefing aims to support local authorities and healthcare commissioners and providers to design vaccine services for socially excluded patient groups.
The JCVI are advising prioritising homeless people and rough sleepers for the COVID-19 vaccine within cohort 6 (11th March 2021) . The NHS has now issued a mobilisation guide to support rollout see below) which specifically includes asylum seekers and refugees on slide 5. Within the homeless definition it describes those in hotels and HMOs (houses in multiple occupation) which many of this population are accommodated in.
