Falls Prevention Week

Falls are not an inevitable result of old age. Falls and fractures in older people are a costly and often preventable health issue.  Falls Prevention Week is an annual event which aims to provide information to help people to understand what they can do to prevent a fall, as well as to highlight the variety of local services available to help

The Y&H Falls Prevention Network is actively promoting Falls Awareness week by sharing a range of free learning resources from 01-08 October.  The resources will be released on each day and will cover the following:

Thursday 1 October 2020:  Healthy Ageing & Care Homes

Friday 2 October:  Bone Health, Strength & Balance

Monday 5 October:  Eye Health, Mobility

Tuesday 6 October:  Housing, Home Hazards

Wednesday 7 October:  Social Isolation, De-conditioning

Thursday 8 October:  Where to find help
