Alcohol and Drugs
The Alcohol & Drugs Community of Improvement is a collaborative strategic network defined by LA area and lead PH responsibility that is jointly owned by Yorkshire and Humber Directors of Public Health (DsPH) Network and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). It is sponsored by the DsPH Network and OHID to establish a joint approach for the development of a work plan that will support the reduction of drug and alcohol related harms and improvement of public health outcomes for people using substances, their children, family members and communities within Yorkshire and Humber.
The aims of the Network are:
- To share & disseminate effective governance & strategic planning and excellence in working practices at local, regional and national levels
- To work collaboratively and offer support particularly as regards the more challenging aspects of Drug & Alcohol Treatment system delivery
- To work together in a solution focused manner in order to continue to deliver quality services in the current climate of reduced budgets
- To improve outcomes and outputs as evidenced by NDTMS and by qualitative work promoted by active recovery groups and user experience in the region
- To encourage and support research and evaluation of local alcohol and drug intervention, treatment and delivery models to improve outcomes at population wide, regional, local and personal levels
