Everyone working in public health practice is expected to keep their professional knowledge and skills up to date through a programme of continuing professional development. Reflective practice is a way of studying your own learning and experiences to improve the way you work, through considering emotional and social aspects of learning as well as the factual. The act of reflection is a great way to become a more self-aware and proactive public health professional.
This masterclass will explore the importance of reflective practice for public health professionals and some of the recognised models and tools available for the reflective learner. There will be time in the masterclass to put some reflective practice into action and to explore opportunities to incorporate reflective practice into CPD and appraisals/personal development planning.
