In Session 1
Debs Harkins, Director of Public Health for Calderdale and Shane Mullen, Advanced Practitioner Fellow, introduced the Inclusive Wellbeing Economy priority for Yorkshire and Humber. The session covered the importance of Inclusive Wellbeing Economies and Public Health, how working on a fairer economy will improve health inequalities and overall health and wellbeing. In Session 2
Jo Bibby (Director of Health) and Christopher Rocks (Lead Economist) from the Health Foundation presented data showing an increase in the number of people with work-limiting health conditions, particularly among younger age groups. They also discussed the variation in employment rates for people with different health conditions and in different geographic areas. Discussing the Health Foundations programs aimed at understanding and addressing these challenges, including the Economy to Healthier Lives program and the Commission for Healthier Working Lives.
