Thank you for contacting the Yorkshire & Humber Health Protection Team, your enquiry is important to us, however, due to a high volume of enquiries and the ongoing management of high-risk cases and outbreaks/incidents, UKHSA are prioritising those that need immediate clinical support. You will receive written information that will support your enquiry on completion of the webform.
Please use the webform to inform the UKHSA Health Protection Team of a new outbreak/incident of a notifiable disease in your setting.
Care Settings
- An incident in which 2 or more people experiencing a similar illness which are linked by time or place.
Educational Settings
- A higher than previously experienced and/or rapidly increasing number of staff or student absences due to the same infection[footnote 2]
- Evidence of severe disease due to an infection, for example if a child, young person or staff member is admitted to hospital or there is a death[footnote 3]
- More than one infection circulating in the same group of children, young people and staff for example chicken pox and scarlet fever
- An outbreak of serious or unusual/ high priority illness, e.g Meningococcal Meningitis, Measles, STEC
- The school is considering closing a school/year group due to a rise in instances of infectious disease.
