Doncaster Council’s Strategic Transportation team are looking for a highly motivated and suitably experienced individual with a passion for active travel to lead on consulting and engaging our communities to help inform where transport investment is focussed. The post holder will be expected to lead on the on a range of priorities within the Strategic Transportation area and will support the Strategic Transport manager. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of consultation and engagement, active travel infrastructure and design standards.
Key elements to the post will include:
Lead, develop and deliver a stakeholder engagement strategy, that uses innovative and engaging methods to co-produce active travel solutions with communities that are deliverable and achievable and support the delivery of the Council Active Travel Programme.
Build and lead engagement, to involve a wide range of stakeholders in the design of new active travel schemes including cycle ways, improved pedestrian facilities and active travel neighbourhoods.
Work strategically and collegiately with members of the Doncaster Active Travel Alliance (DATA), Get Doncaster Moving and Well Doncaster Team; ensuring that community engagement processes, outputs and impacts are aligned and connected to other complex work streams
The role is funded by Sport England Local Delivery Pilot, and will run for an initial two years, but depending on funding may be extended further.
