Health Protection
The Health Protection Community of Improvement (CoI) is a sector specialist network working collaboratively to:
- Provide local and regional insight into health protection issues across Yorkshire and the Humber
- Recognise that prevention of health protection cases and incidents and reduction of health inequalities are key elements of the health protection
- Identify health protection priorities that require action at region or sub regional level or among local authorities with a common interest e.g., TB in cities, STEC in rural areas.
- Provide a forum for the dissemination of knowledge and advice about health protection issues across the region
- Provide a forum for discussion about operational health protection issues across the region, seeking a range of views aiming to develop a consensus opinion where possible
- Develop a consistent approach to health protection issues across local areas where appropriate
- Maintain a high profile for health protection within the wider public health agenda
- Develop the health protection capacity and workforce, including building a resilient workforce
- Act as advocates to influence policy and drive change
- Help to develop the evidence base for health protection issues across the region
Recognise and respond to changes within health protection and wider public health landscape to ensure consistent, positive collaboration between partners.
