In Session 1

 

Debs H​arkins, Director of Public Health for Calderdale and priority sponsor, Shane Mullen, Advanced Practitioner Fellow, introduced the Inclusive Wellbeing Economy Fellow priority for Yorkshire and Humber.The session covered the importance of Inclusive Wellbeing Economies and Public Health, how working on a fairer economy will improve health inequalities and overall health and wellbeing. Debs shared some real world examples from Calderdale, working on inclusive economies, fairer work and wealth spending as anchor partners.The presentation is available here to take and the recording to watch back is below

 

In Session 2

 Jo Bibby (Director of Health) and Christopher Rocks (Lead Economist) from the Health Foundation presented data showing an increase in the number of people with work-limiting health conditions, particularly among younger age groups. They also discussed the variation in employment rates for people with different health conditions and in different geographic areas. Discussing the Health Foundations programs aimed at understanding and addressing these challenges, including the Economy to Healthier Lives program and the Commission for Healthier Working Lives.
