Community Centred Approaches: A Practical Workshop for Anchor Organisations
This online workshop focused on how Anchor Organisations can work effectively with local communities, using community centred approaches, and how this can be done practically in their local area to help solve system-level issues.
This workshop brought together partners from anchor organisations and the community sector in order to explore community centred approaches. The workshop had a strong focus on both mutual learning, collaboration and practical application, valuing contributions from all sectors and perspectives. In addition to this, we jointly explored barriers and facilitators to collaboration in order to build up shared understanding, strengthen local links and networks and explore opportunities to work together.
Content
- Overview of Community Centred Approaches with a focus on what is most relevant to anchor organisations including the benefits of utilising this approach.
- What does this look like in practice? We will provide examples from community-led programmes. Speakers will reflect on the practicalities around anchor organisation involvement, any barriers or successes, lessons learned and how we could improve.
- Inclusive discussion groups based on the examples and group members’ experiences. What could the key issues be and what could have been done differently?
- What next? How do we work together in Yorkshire and Humber to support our partners across the system to work together?
